LUNAR-GNSS (2013-2014)

The objective of the project is to investigate weak-signal GPS/GNSS (Galileo) technology for providing real-time position, navigation and timing (PNT) information to various future lunar assets such as automated landers, rovers, orbiters,... The activities address the study the main limitations of current GNSS space receiver, the identification of navigation requirements for the upcoming missions and finally the definition of the receiver architectures and algorithms investigating also the  synergies between signal processing and other navigation sensors.

The identified architectures are validated by implementing a proof-of-concept of the weak-signal GNSS navigation architecture.
