On 24th of February the TRITON Final Workshop will take place at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, in Ispra (Italy). TRusted vessel Information from Trusted On-board iNstrumentation (TRITON) is an R&D project funded by the European Union trough the Seventh Framework Programme that focuses on increasing the trustworthiness of on-board instrumentation used to report vessel information to the control organisms (here a brochure of the project).
The project is coordinated by Marco Pini, head of NavSAS and involves also the Multi-Layer Wireless Solutions Research Areas, whereas the partnership is composed by Kongsberg Norcontrol IT AS (Norway), Acorde Technologies SA (Spain), 7I Group AB (Sweden), Alpha Consultants SRL (Italy), Granturco and Partners SPRL (Belgium).
This one-day final workshop, organised by TRITON Consortium, is open to all the interested researchers, it is free of charge and it includes:
• an opening with a panel debate on the problem of maritime security and the role of ICT technologies for the next generation of Ship Reporting Systems, conducted with the support of key experts in the domain;
• a quick visit to JRC labs and lunch break;
• a flavour of TRITON, with the presentation of the most important project results together with a demonstration of the developed prototypes.
